Who we are
CONTENEDOR BLANCO is a spin-off set up by a group of plastic industry experts with experience in entrepreneurship, financial management and communication.
What we do
Our company offers a practical and innovative solution to promote plastic recycling. This solution comes in the shape of a bin which includes a compacting system and an identification code. Users place valuable plastic waste into this bin and when it is full they ask for it to be collected via a web platform or its mobile app version and receive a financial reward for doing so.

The new circular economy plastics strategy, launched by the European Union in 2018, is based on reducing, reusing and recycling. This strategy encourages plastic recycling as well as increasing the demand for recycled plastics.
To increase the availability of food-grade recycled plastic, collection systems need to be more efficient and the general public needs to be involved in the recycling process.
Inefficient waste collection systems
Current waste collection systems are very inefficient. Only 30% of all the plastic waste generated is collected for recycling. This poor plastic recycling percentage in the European Union means big losses for the economy and has a huge impact on the environment.
The lack of materials
The lack of materials available for reprocessing and the costs of waste management are increasing the prices of recycled plastic so much so that they are now higher than the price of virgin plastic.
It is estimated that 95% of the value of plastic packaging material is lost after a short first-use cycle.
Quality of the material collected
Packaging waste comes mainly from homes. The quality of the material collected depends on the sorting system available and on citizen participation.
As a result, only 34% of packaging waste is recycled in Europe.
